Flower: Shine a light

// Dette er en historie jeg skrev i forbindelse med engelsk tentamen, basert på det PSN-eksklusive spillet Flower. Enjoy. //

Once upon a time, there was a flower that was bright and shiny, much bigger, stronger and more beautiful than the rest of the flowers in the field, but it wasn't haughty. It was just as nice and good as any other flower, maybe even better. It was yellow. Yellow as the sun, with big yellow pedestals. It was happy.

But one day there was something wrong in the world. The flowers was suddenly swept away, as they were nothing but dead creatures. Instead there were big amounts of constructions popping up in the world. And then there was no sun anymore, at least not were the big, yellow flower was. It was the only flower that had survived the manifestations of these constructions that suddenly had popped up out of nowhere. Before, it was standing in a big field of green grass, but now it stood in-between two constructions, in a dark alley. There was no sun, only rain. No light, only darkness. The world had become a dark place.

Days went by and the rain never stopped. The flower only stood there, all alone, getting weaker and weaker. Nobody seemed to notice it...

Suddenly one day the flower was just about to give up. It fell apart. Piece by piece. Until there was just one pedestal left. It fell to the ground but was suddenly caught by the wind; it flew high, high above ground. Riding the wind, it reached an abnormal height. It flew high above the constructions. Then suddenly the wind stopped, and the pedestal fell again. It went faster and faster, closer and closer to the ground, until... The wind caught it a meter or two above ground and blew it sideways.

Everywhere they passed their surrounding became brighter, full of yellow light. Lamp posts, traffic signs, even the roads itself, everything that previously was dark turned into light. Soon the city was sparkling and shone as the rainbow itself. It stopped raining and the sun came down from the skies. The pedestal was dancing all around, blown by the wind.

Even if it had restored hope to the world by enlightening this previous dark and abandoned city it wasn't enough. The pedestal was blown by the wind far away, over many dark plains in the dark world. Everywhere they went the world became full of light, happiness, hope and joy.
Sometimes they even crossed oceans, leaving the water they passed looking like a sunrise; dim and bright. Together they brightened the whole wide world. Peace and light was restored.

The pedestal had been flying over the world for many years now, the world was completely full of life again. The fields of grass all around the world was filled with blue, red, purple, white, pink, orange, violet and green flowers. But the one colour that shone the most was the yellow ones. These became bigger than every other flower. They were even more beautiful, and stronger than the other colours.
Now the pedestal and the wind had only one mission undone...

It flew back to the city where it all began, down to the back alley where it came from. The once big flower was lying there, just like it was a dead creature nobody wanted to look at. The pedestal felt sorry for it and touched it. In an explosion of light the flower and the pedestal melted back into one. When the light settled, the big flower was even bigger than before. It was even more beautiful. And all around in the city all the other flowers came back to life, even bigger than before. They were nearly as beautiful as the yellow, but only nearly.
The world was once again bright and wonderful.

And the yellow flower? It was happy...
