Activision stopper gitar

Rock Band og PS3 blir lidende

Harmonix, utvikleren bak Guitar Hero 1 og 2 samt det nye spillet Rock Band som ennå ikke har funnet veien her til lands har meddelt at Rock Band til Playstation 3 ikke kommer til å få støtte for Guitar Hero 3-gitarer. Harmonix forteller at de har utviklet en oppdatering som gjør det mulig å bruke Guitar Hero 3-gitarer til Rock Band, men at Activision i USA har stoppet denne oppdateringen.

Ettersom det ikke går an å kjøpe løse instrumenter til Rock Band i USA før neste år går altså Activision glipp av salget av gitarer til Rock Band-spillere. RedOctane som eies av Activision har tidligere forklart at de ikke er interesserte i å få Rock Bands-instrumenter til å fungere i Guitar Hero 3, noe som føles mer logisk ut. Men at Playstation 3-eiere av Rock Band ikke skal kunne kjøpe Activisions gitarer og bruke de til Rock Band føles merkelig. Alle taper jo på det.
