Da vi møtte The Sims 4-produsent Azure Bowie-Hankins på årets E3-messe, var hun opptatt av å formidle fokuset teamet har hatt på simmer med personlighet og humor. Dette ble oppsummert med en noe merkelig uttalelse:
- As we like to say, in Sims 2 we made them 3D, in Sims 4 we made them 3D on the inside, kommenterer Bowie-Hankins.
For å utdype hva hun mener gikk hun inn på arbeidet teamet har gjort for å finne den perfekte balansen mellom simulator og komedie:
- One thing that I really like is that there are a lot of people on the team and our team is very open to feedback, like across the team. And we're constantly showing the game that we're working on to eachother and so that's kind of how we find that good balance is when you're working with a lot of really talented people... I think the people I work with are really talented. But when you're working with a lot of people feedback is so important. We're constantly taking everyone's feedback into account to find just that right balance of how to make our Sims emotions come through and how to make that something that will really touch people.
