Star Power har alltid vært en del av Guitar Hero-serien, og dette er også tilfellet for det kommende Guitar Hero Live. Denne gangen har imidlertid utvikler FreeStyle Games tekt litt annerledes, ved å dele opp star power i hele sju forskjellige varianter. Disse er som følger:
Clear Highway removes all notes currently on-screen, as well as adds them to your score and overall multiplier.
Dial Up will increase the number of notes that appear for a period of time, allowing for more points to be scored but also a bigger chance of failure if you miss them.
Dial Down is the opposite, decreasing the number of notes that appear.
Double Multiplier simply doubles the player's multiplier for a time.
Score Chaser doubles the maximum multiplier that can be reached.
Safety Net makes your multiplier and score streak freeze while active.
Invincibility auto-hits the notes and won't register any missed notes that you may input.
