Siden E3-messen i sommer har Microsoft skrytt av det de omtaler som "the greatest games lineup in Xbox history", altså tidenes beste rekke med Xbox-spill, for høsten 2015.
Spillene som ramses opp er Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition og Fable Legends, og selv om Microsoft åpenbart er fornøyd med tilbudet lover de enda flere godbiter til neste år.
- We expect to sell more games next year and we have more game titles releasing next year than we do this year. If you start to look at that list of things that are coming, we have Quantum Break in April, Killer Instinct Season 3, Recore, Scalebound, Crackdown, Sea of Thieves, Halo Wars 2 and Gears of War 4 and probably some we haven't announced, kommenterer Microsofts Aaron Greenberg til Kinda Funny Games (via The Examiner).
Han vil heller ikke høre noe om at Xbox One er dødsdømt fordi Playstation 4 har fått et så stort forsprang:
- Globally, if you look at Xbox One sales month by month and how we stack up against where the Xbox 360 was, and I think Xbox 360 was widely regarded as a huge success for us, we are month by month selling more Xbox Ones than we did Xbox 360s. We're actually widening that gap. As we rate ourselves against ourselves, we're doing very well. We're also selling more more games than we sold last-gen. We're seeing the console market being extremely healthy. If you look at the games lineup this year and you look at the games lineup next year, Halo will sell a lot of consoles, Gears will sell a lot of consoles, so for us it's been really healthy, tilføyer Greenberg.
Selv om vi i Gamereactor ikke lar oss blåse av banen av fire oppfølgere og en remake, ser vi på ingen måte på Xbox One som dødsdømt. Det blir nok vanskelig å ta igjen Playstation 4, men spillbransjen trenger konkurransen flere store aktører blant konsollene gir. Microsoft ønsker å fortsette kampen, og det kan vi alle stille oss bak.
