Delta Force serien har gått sin seiersgang på PC'er over hele verden. Nå er det snart konsoll folkets tur til å snike seg rundt og knerte fiender i hytt og gevær.
Det dreier seg om en konsoll-tilpasset konvertering av det første Delta Force spillet. Nedefor har vi et utfyllende utdrag fra pressemeldingen. Det skal også nevnes at bildene er en smule blåst opp og derfor har litt lavere oppløsning enn i virkeligheten. Uansett blir det spennende å se hvordan det fungerer på konsoll:
· You take the role of a lone Delta Force operative on a covert operation consisting of 12 challenging missions.
· Gameplay has been redesigned to suit the PS strengths and innovate:
as normal in an FPS firefights are a large part of the gameplay but the gameplay also rewards the use of gadgets/tactics to even the odds as
opposed to just pressing the fire button all the time i.e.
- Using remote detonated charges.
- Combat radar.
- Night vision mode combat.
- Flashbangs.
- Silenced weapons.
- Sniping.
- Silent kills (knife)
- Dragging and hiding bodies.
- Stealing enemy radios and listening in to their movements/plans.
- Crouching/Crawling -to reduce chance of detection and staying under things for cover.
-Disarming enemies and taking them prisoner.
· Huge array of Delta Force weapons/equipment to use each with their own strengths and weaknesses.
· Plot driven - portrayed via cutscenes with lip-synch and facial animation and in game radio messages.
· Advanced enemy AI. Allows enemies to use tactics like flanking, have finite ammo supply, reload realistically and track your blood trails if you are wounded ( we have many other exciting things planned but we don’t want to spoil all the surprise by giving away too much way at this stage ;0) )
· A more realistic ‘Power-up’ system and carrying capacity.You go into a mission with most of what you need. Additional ammo and equipment can only be acquired off bad guys or realistic places like an armory. No spinny power-ups and weapons in the middle of rooms for no good reason.This hint of realism also increases the need for tactics, for example it will matter how many shots a bad guy gets off at you , because you want the rest of his
ammo when you take him down.
· Rebellion’s 4Th Gen 3D Engine allows impressive visuals and effectsDet utvikles også en versjon av Delta Force til PS2 og begge titlene skulle være tilgjengelige i løpet av høsten 2002.
