Capcom er gjerne kjent for å produsere oppfølgere til allerede etablerte serier, men nå er deres nyskapende og GameCube eksklusive spill Viewtiful Joe, nominert til de ettertraktede BAFTA prisene.
Viewtiful Joe er nominert til hele tre priser, Best Design, Best Intro/Animation og Best GameCube Game. Ben Le Rougetel hos Capcom i England hadde følgende å si til nomineringen:
"We're immensely proud to have been nominated for three BAFTA Games Awards. Ever since it was announced, Viewtiful Joe has stood out as a quality title, offering something completely different from the me-too games so often forced on the public. We're grateful to BAFTA and its panel of judges for considering Viewtiful Joe as examples of the best in design and animation. It's good to have our opinions--and those of the public--validated by such an esteemed group of individuals."
Vinnerne i de forskjellige kategoriene avgjøres i februar 2004.
