Vårt GRTV-team fikk nylig muligheten til å snakke om Virtual Reality med Dave Ranyard fra Sony London Studios. Viktigst var naturligvis selskapets egne VR-briller Project Morpheus, men samtalen penset også inn på London Heist-demoen de viste frem på GDC-messen.
"About two years ago we started getting really interested in VR. At that time the headset was literally a cycle helmet with Move controller taped onto and bits of circuit boards and things. So obviously we're a lot happier with the new one. What can I say? There were various different versions. Last year we launched with something and everyone was impressed that actually it's a prototype and it's pretty good. And we were happy. This feels like a step change again."
Ranyard var litt hemmelighetsfull om Project Morpheus-spill, men han forklarte at han ser en lys fremtid for virtual reality:
"We're just seeing the beginning at moment. Just think what it's going to look like in two, three, four years. I think that's good, that everything is uniform and also that fact that it's so easy to plug and play and put it together."
Project Morpheus skal slippes i første halvdel av 2016, men vi vet foreløpig ikke hva den vil koste eller noen nøyaktig dato. Sjekk ut hele intervjuet her:
