I forkant av årets E3-messe ble Deus Ex: Mankind Divided annonsert, og med kreftene til den nye konsollgenerasjonen i ryggen kan vi forvente et enda lekrere spill en forgjengeren Human Revolution.
Da vi møtte utviklerne på messen kunne de imidlertid fortelle at den nye maskinvaren gir dem mulighet til å gjøre mer enn å bare presse inn flere polygoner (de små byggesteinene digitale miljøer består av). De kan også bygge mer detaljerte omgivelser for oss å leve oss inn i:
- It's not a question of the visual effects are better and stuff like this, kommenterer produsent Stephane Roy. - The narrative aspect is really important for this game, for this franchise, and the game director, the narrative directors, they really like to tell a story without saying anything. They really want to, they really push the team that if you are in an environment, the environment will talk to you, will give you a story.
Han fortsetter:
- So if you are in a room, and it's empty, you know a little bit anyway by looking, reading email and stuff like this. So with the next-gen it gave us the capacity, the possibility to fill the environment and push the immersion. So this is what it's giving us, it's not just a question of pushing more polygons, it's a question of immersion.
