Det finnes en rekke utfordringer for konsollene som ikke har eksistert tidligere, og mange har trodd at den kommende konsollgenerasjonen vil bli den siste for tradisjonelle TV-spill. Ubisoft er derimot ikke det minste enig i denne spådommen.
I en CVG-undersøkelse uttaler Ubisoft-sjef Yves Guillemot:
- I still think it is not the last generation, because the manufacturers want a way to control their platform and the machine is the best way to have a specific access to that.
Han har heller mer tro på nettskyen vil ha stor påvirkning på spillfremtiden:
- I think that the cloud is going to change a few things. Now with cloud and the increase of bandwidth we should have the possibility to increase the quality of games a lot over the next few years. But I think five years is the right timing for it.
Det er kanskje litt tidlig å spørre, men håper dere på å få se Wii Ultra, Playstation 5 og Xbox Two?
