OverActive Media has announced a new $500 million project set to be built in Toronto, Canada to act as the home stadium for its four esports teams, as well as acting as a regular entertainment venue and hotel.

Located in the Exhibition Place, the facility will house up to 7000 fans and is expected to be completed by 2025, when it will become the home venue for OverActive's four esports franchises, including the Toronto Defiant Overwatch League team, and the Toronto Ultra Call of Duty League team.

"Today is another important step in the evolution of OverActive Media," said Chris Overholt, OverActive's President and CEO. "We are building a world leading, 21st century sports media and entertainment company and this best-in-class performance venue will be the chosen home for a new generation of fans that think differently about their entertainment choices and experiences."

The facility also intends to host 200+ events a year, and intends to elevate Toronto as a destination of choice for esports and gaming in general. The building will also look quite unique in its design, to reflect "a modern expression of a new age theatre for sports and entertainment."
