The Brazilian esports organisation MIBR has officially launched a platform dedicated to providing opportunities for women and non-binary individuals in gaming and esports.
Known as WIBR, the project will look to promote careers in a range of different parts of the gaming industry, and has already been supported by various notable names, such as the likes of Riot Games, Ubisoft, Logtech, and more.
"We were born and raised hearing that games are for boys," said Roberta Coelho, MIBR CEO. "This is a cultural belief that we need to change. WIBR arrives to help with this change. We want more girls looking at this universe as a career possibility and companies looking at girls as great assets to work in this area."
It's also noted that the WIBR platform has been sponsored by MIBR partners, such as 1xBet, Bybit, and so on, and that the platform aims to have around 8,000 professionals in its database in just its first year of operation.
