Epic Games has made the announcement that it has made Russian players ineligible for receiving cash prizes when competing in Fortnite tournaments. The rule, which came into place before the weekend, will still allow Russian players residing in Russia to earn in-game cosmetic prizes, and likewise will still allow players living in Russia to claim any outstanding cash prizes before March 22, 2022, but following this date, these cash prizes will be frozen in Epic's payment service.
This comes shortly after the first season of the Fortnite Champion Series in Fortnite Chapter 3 , which concluded in early March, with all eyes now being on season 2, which remains unannounced for the time being.
